It’s Getting Beta – The Marble It Update!

It’s Getting Beta
– February 17 –

Welcome back to the newsletter, everybody! After a busy week, we’ve got a smaller slate for the news today. RTA updates, Beta feedback, and the Fast Forward challenge. Let’s get rolling!

Weekly Challenge: Fast Forward

This week’s challenge is a toughie. Fast Forward (or Fast FOURward according to bmoo in discord) ups your acceleration, jump height, and gravity to 400% each. We also picked Four Stairs as the first level this week… coincidence?! You decide, marblers – and good luck on Escalation!

The Speedruns!

This week, the Real Time Attack leaderboard expands! Not only have several new runs appeared on the board – but the moderation team gained a new member; congratulations, Hatchet! We’re thrilled to see so many names on the leaderboard and can’t wait to see more.

The Beta!

This weekend was some marble madness; a huge thank you to everyone who played over the weekend! We kicked off with an impromptu 30+ player match – because what good Beta doesn’t have some unexpected shenanigans? This test was super helpful for not only the game and its content, but for the team and the way we run tests like this. This includes using a more deliberate feedback gathering system: surveys!

In addition to reading the conversations in Discord (dedicated players laying out their ideas, feelings, and feedback), we’re using a survey to gather data on the Beta. I’m rather happy with the turn out so far, and the results are informative and helpful already!

We’ll still be collecting data this week – so if you played the Beta and haven’t filled out the survey, please do so by going to the pinned messages in #beta-steam on Discord!

Thank you again to everyone who played and took the time to respond with your feedback – be it in the survey, in writing, or both! I’ll share some of my favorite data points next week after we’re done collecting survey responses.

Until then – keep on rolling!
